The Cottage Garden Print

Abundance and variety are the keystones to a Cottage Garden.  From early spring bulbs to the latest fall mums and asters, this garden is filled to overflowing with herbs, annuals, bulbs, perennials, and flowering shrubs.  Many of the plants are self-seeders that pop up here and there throughout the beds.  Traditionally, the garden was filled with the cottager’s favorite plants and tasty herbs that would be at hand for cooking.  You’ll find mint planted by the door to repel mice and bugs, just as it would have been in the olden days.  Fragrant herbs for teas abound beside dainty blooms for quick bouquets.  Sometimes, there are even a few interesting veggies!
